A new online gallery dedicated to exploring
contemporary craft themes.
A series of innovative exhibitions look closely
at objects and practice. Some start with the
Crafts Council Collection and all engage with
current developments in craft.
A place where objects are displayed in new
ways and opinion is shared – visit the
exhibitions to join the conversation.
Celebrating 40 years of the Crafts
Council Collection, 40:40 –
forty objects for forty years
pilots a new approach to
a dynamic online archive. The
exhibition features 40 works
from the Collection, each
selected by an invited
commentator. Visit the
exhibition to explore the
objects, along with previously
unseen archive material and
newly commissioned responses.
Artist Tom Gallant curates
The Yellow Wallpaper and takes
us on a journey into the world
of storytelling and imagery both
beautiful and obscene that has
influenced the making of Dress 09
and his practice in general.
Dress 09 is the result of a
collaboration between artist Tom
Gallant & Marios Schwab. Recently
acquired for the Crafts Council
Collection, its intricately cut
surface and multiple layers
prompted an investigation into
the story behind its making.

Drawing is core to creative
practice – this doesn’t necessarily
require pencil and paper.
This exhibition invites you into
the studio to see digital drawings
transform into objects in the work
of ceramicist Tavs Jorgensen.
